This photo was captured looking southeast from Colfax, New Mexico.  The sunset is actually behind the camera.  The pink light from the sunset is reflecting on the rain falling from the cloud.
The anvil shape of this cloud indicates it is a cumulonimbus incus.  A cumulonimbus incus is a mature thunderstorm cloud generating many dangerous elements which can include lightning, heavy rain, strong wind, hail and possibly tornadoes.
