The Tooth of Time is 9003 feet above sea level and is located outside Cimarron, New Mexico in the Sangre De Christo Range of the Rocky Mountains. It is a front range of the Rockies. The "Tooth" is located on Philmont Scout Ranch and offers spectacular views of the high plains to the east.
Philmont Scout Ranch is the Boy Scouts of America's High Adventure base for backpacking. It covers 214 square miles in the Sangre de Christo range of the Rocky Mountains in northeastern New Mexico.
